On Thursday, Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada Volodymyr Groysman had a meeting with a delegation of the National Coalition Supporting Eurasian Jewry (the United States).
Groysman thanked the guests for their support of Ukraine in times of Russia's military aggression.
Having thanked the United States for its assisting Ukraine in counteracting the aggressor, Groysman noted "we do feel the United States' support, including the financial one, but Ukraine needs defense assistance as well." "Possession of defense weapons would be a substantial argument to oust the occupants from the country's territory," he said adding "Ukraine is defending not only its borders but the borders of the whole Europe, borders of the European civilization."
Groysman informed about the course of systemic reforms launched in Ukraine. "Changes at the level of local self-government, decentralization of power will allow building quality system of state management, hold reforms in other fields, uproot corruption," he said.
Members of the delegation thanked for the opportunity to hold such a meeting and expressed hope for further positive changes in Ukraine.
The Parties discussed ways to cooperate and provide mutual support during preparation for commemoration of the Babyn Yar tragedy victims. Respective events will take place on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of that tragedy at the state level. "That is a symbolic event as it is very important to commemorate the victims of crimes committed by the nazis during Ukraine's occupation — civilians of all nationalities, prisoners of war, participants of the Ukrainian liberation movement. It is also important to combine efforts to counteract further possible crimes against humanity," Groysman said.
Groysman declared absolute readiness of the Ukrainian Parliament to cooperate.
